see and touch our 42 rolling objects in Art Thessaloniki | November 23-26

rolling stories

"Out of the box" is an expression that describes nonconformal, creative thinking. It is also a fundamental skill of a good designer. In this case, 41 young designers start with a standardized piece of wood with 4 wheels, dimensioned at 8 x 8 x 16cm and asked to come up with a form of an object away from the stereotypes and norms of the automobile. Allowed to work by removing rather than adding material, designers create a form “out of a wooden box”, taking into account not only visual but also tactile qualities of the final shape.

According to Henry Ford “every object tells a story”, if know how to read it. Each one of the 42 exhibited objects creates through its own form and shape a unique story. 42 different narrations or in other words 42 “rolling stories”.
